Juliano’s way
DAM feat Juliano’s students

(Juliano’s student)
Jul, I will always remember when you told us that art is a form of revolution, so from this day on we aren’t just revolutionaries, we are artists
Jul, I will never forget the resistance you planted in our hearts

Hook
(Sampled from Into the Night by Benny Mardones)
If I could fly
I’d pick you up
I’d take you into the night
I’d pick you up
Like you’ve never seen
(The Freedom theater)
Jul used to say, standing on a stage and voicing your opinion is called resistance

Suhell Nafar rap:
We stood tall in front of the barriers
While you simply passed over them
You drew a path with an arrow pointing to one way
No turns, no slowing down, there’s only one target
You died with all of your qualities
While the killer is masked afraid of his true face
Jul, who is insane?
Who is sane? Who can see the whole picture?
If we had a pinch of your madness
I guess the word freedom wouldn’t be just a name of a theater
Jul got shot
On the same date that Martin Luther King was shot
They both had a dream, we all had hope,
And a few depressed individuals had guns
You were a script writer & an actor that never followed any script
You gave us Arna’s Children now rest in peace and let us do Juliano’s Children

Hook

If I could fly
I’d pick you up
I’d take you into the night
I’d pick you up
Like you’ve never seen
(Juliano’s student)
He always used to say don’t let one bullet stop you, after 7 bullets in your body we are still standing tall

Tamer Nafar Rap:
If you meet the killer would you ask him?
If Jul’s name was on the black list, write my name after his
Who did you shoot at?
You shot our man; he united Lyd, without
Any special effects he managed to get a monster outta 3 kids
just ask the cops, so tell the occupation to keep on oppressing
We won’t be turned off, tell them to keep on pressing &
We still won’t be turned off, Jul left his Volts
Under our names in his will, but if the killer was one of us
Who did you shoot at?
A theatre? A play? A dance? A painting? Do you call this heresy?
I’m opening the same holy books and can’t find any page
Let me understand it, religion fights the darkness
And art has the same ideology, the difference is:
That you don’t need to turn the stick into a snake so we believe in your ideology
If you resist slavery its enough for us to follow you
Jul, if you lived back in the prophet’s decade
You would’ve protected them with your life
While the ones who shot you are holding the nails & the hammers, rest in peace.

I’d take you into the night
I’d pick you up

Freedom starts in our minds, the freedom of speech, and most important the freedom of choosing.

Mahmood Jreri Rap:
I don’t get it, can you kill a culture?
Can art threaten people? Jul answered this question
We met in Lyd, they said you wanted to make a music video
Suddenly I see myself in the middle of a demonstration, so I realized
If the eye behinds the camera is brave
Then you will find a revolution in front of it
I send you roses with deep sadness, all the roads lead
To Jenin, and here is what I have to say
Follow the teacher, don’t be afraid
Of the masked ones that want us to live in darkness
They will be appreciated only by the extremist
While you will light the roads
Getting appreciated by the armed revolutionaries,
The poets, the writers & the actors
And be sure that the theater will be there as well
The sketches of the killer will be dark
While Jul’s parts will be so touching, so colorful
And it will end with: To Be Continued

Hook

If I could fly
I’d pick you up
I’d take you into the night
I’d pick you up
Like you’ve never seen
If I could fly
I’d pick you up
I’d take you into the night
I’d pick you up
Like you’ve never seen

(Juliano’s student)
And you always taught us if we don’t stand together we will be hanged together
